Finlandia Hall
A multi-purpose facility of sorts, the Finlandia Hall serves as a concert hall that boasts a congress wing. The hall was designed in the 1960's by Alvar Aalto and construction was completed in 1971. On the outside, the hall features a gigantic horizontal mass of the building with a towering auditorium that rises above it. The external wall is comprised of Carrara marble accented by a copper roof. From the hall, visitors can take in the view of the Töölönlahti bay by which the facility is constructed. Inside, marble continues to be a main feature of the building's style. Leading to the both the main auditorium and chamber music hall is a breathtaking Venetian staircase that is shallow and broad in nature.
