Finnish National Opera

Holding the title of leading opera company in Finland is the Finnish National Opera (Kansallisooppera). The company is based out of an opera house in Helsinki on the Töölönlahti bay. The home of the Finnish National Opera opened in 1993 and features a spectacular view the bay. The facility boasts state-of-the-art technology and two auditoriums. The primary auditorium features 1,350 seats. The smaller auditorium can accommodate up to 500 seated guests. In all, the Finnish National Opera is comprised of a professional choir with 60 singers, 30 solo singers, and a 120-member orchestra. Additionally the ballet has 90 dancers from 17 countries. In total, there are 735 opera staff members.
